What's an
Include Page

(Applies to FrontPage ONLY)

Many of the page 'elements' for your website have been embedded into an 'include' page for quick and easy updating of your website. By editing one include page, all the page template pages that use that 'included' page element will also be updated. This can save you many hours, as you only need to change an element once in order to modify all the attached pages.

One of the benefits of using a single include page for each element is that you can 'delete' the element from that include page, if you do not want to use it in your website. Deleting an element from it's include page, will remove it from all pages in your site.

Please view our video tutorial, and see just how easy it is to modify the include pages for your website.

Included elements:

  • text links at top and bottom of page
  • logo and Tagline
  • icon uttons
  • page title
  • google search
  • menu heading
  • vertical CSS menu bar
  • copyright information
  • contact button (email link)

Menu's & Navigation
(FrontPage, Dreamweaver)

  • A vertical menu bar using a CSS text menu bar (great for Search Engine Optimization)

Both of these menu bars can easily be modified to include additional pages, remove existing pages, and change the names on the buttons to suit your needs.

If you would like to replace the FrontPage navigation menu bar, with the CSS menu bar for better Search Engine Optimization, please review the video below.

If you've downloaded the Dreamweaver / HTML version of the website template, your package will have the CSS version installed by default.

Learn how to edit your MENU Bar, by clicking on the menu bar type from the list below:

FrontPage** and CSS: The CSS Text Menu Bar can be used with all HTML editors. For FrontPage users wanting to achieve the best Search Engine Results, we recommend the CSS Text Menu Bar.

How do I change the
themed Object Image

(the themed image up top)

The index page included's a replaceable themed object, as well as the 4 replaceable flash images. You can change this themed object yourself. You would need a replacement image. The image would need to be 'cutout' from any colored background, and also reside on a transparent background.

The themed object is saved in a SWF format, which helps to keep the transparency of the backtground in tact. Transparent GIF of TIF images do not have a very good transparency for web pages, nor can they be loaded into a flash movie.

To create a replacement image, follow the video tutorial:

  • The themed image is loaded from the 'flash/themed-object/' folder

  • create a new transparent image with the following dimensions:
    • 250 pixels wide
    • 250 pixels high
  • MAKE SURE the image is on a transparent background, and the object is 'CUT OUT' or 'MASKED' for transparency

  • name the transparent image: themed-object2

  • SAVE your new 'themed-object2' as a SWF (save or export from your graphic editor, Swish or Flash program)

  • SAVE the 'themed-object2.swf' file to the:
    • flash/themed-object/ folder to replace the existing file

  • We've included an editable 'themed-object2.png' file (editable in Macromedia Fireworks) but you can also use this file to help correctly size the canvas for your replacement image using your favorite graphic editor

  • Please watch the video tutorial for complete instructions
